The Peoria Area Mountain Bike Association will be hosting the 2008 Midwest Mountain Bike Festival on May 2, 3, and 4 at Farmdale Reservoir Recreation Area in East Peoria, IL.
Friday, May 2nd, will be the International Mountain Bike Association’s Advocacy Summit, with classes on trail construction, maintenance, land manager relations, and club care. This will be held at the new Five Points Community Center in Washington, IL.
Saturday and Sunday, May 3rd and 4th, will be the core days of the Festival at Farmdale. There will be several internationally known bicycle manufacturers on site (Cannondale, Trek, Specialized, Blue, Giant, Jamis, Dakine, Maxxis, SkullCandy and more) offering test rides on the newest and best bicycle designs and equipment. There will be live music, food, group rides for all levels of cycling at several local trail systems, along with games, movies, and fun!
Last year, this festival saw 400 cyclists from all over the Midwest come to the Peoria area. This year will see even more exhibitions, demonstrations, and activities to draw in an even bigger crowd! This will be the last year for Peoria to host this event. It will be moving to Western Michigan for 2009 and 2010 and then on to the Quad Cities for 2011 and 2012.
