Now that InterBike is over, it’s time to gather all that money you won in Vegas, check your couch for loose change, & break out your check books! The highly anticipated Tara Llanes Fundraiser is ready to rock on PINNEDmtb. com!
There are some great prizes offered by our friends in the cycling industry! Specialized donated a complete bicycle, Fox Shox donated a few bad-ass forks, Anneke Beerten donated her World Cup 4X leader’s jersey, Andrew Neethling donated his ’06 4X race machine & there is so much more! Check out that awesome drawing by industry legend BOB HARO! Yah, it’s that Bob Haro who founded Haro Bikes! This is the first time that he’s donated one of his drawings for auction!
C’mon everyone… Tara needs our help! Accidents like hers aren’t just a one-time fix. It takes years & years of rehab, doctor visits, new equipment & surgeries just to start your ‘road to recovery.’ And let’s not forget the struggles just to try & live a “normal” life. We take so many things for granted in life, can you imagine what it would be like if you were in her shoes?
Tara’s scheduled to have surgery this coming November, just to relieve the pain she’s been having. Why not take the time to chip in a few bucks to help out our friend Tara! You could win something exciting, while helping out our friend in need!
Cost to enter is $5 per ticket. All proceeds will go directly to the Tara Llanes ‘Road to Recovery’ Fund!
Mail your entry to: PINNED MTB Magazine Attn: Tara’s Fundraiser 316 West Mission Ave Suite 117 Escondido, California 92025 USA

The Parkfield Classic is happening October 4th and 5th in Parkfield, CA.
-Cross Country (Saturday Morning, sponsored by Affinity Chiropractic Center): Burly, lung busting, screaming fire-road course, point to point. We’re sending our creative minds out to see what new twists we can deliver to this old faithful course. We’re sending people off bright and early again this year. ALL NORBA/USAC XC Racers get a BBQ ticket included with their race. Distances: Beginner: 9 miles, Sport: 15 miles, Pro/Expert: 24 miles.
-Dual Slalom (Saturday afternoon, sponsored by Art’s Cyclery): Dual Slalom Qualifiers and Head to Head races. Head to head races on separate courses join in the middle for lots of spectator friendly action.
-Short Track (Sunday morning, sponsored by Foothill Cyclery): looks like it will be similar to last year’s course. We will hold it on the flat course from last year, so be ready for physically demanding race.
-Downhill (Sunday, sponsored by Sponsor it!): Sweet Glorious Single Track. What else can you say. Single Run format. Bypass options are given for most obstacles. Expert course different than Sport course.
You can find out more information (and possibly register online, although I can’t find the link) at the Parkfield Classic website.
Here are some photos from Interbike 2008 Dirt Demo at Bootleg Canyon. Phil, Jrock, Anthony and Tomo were there hard at work networking with various vendors!
