SF Premier of Kranked Revolve

The latest installment in Kranked Series is due out later this month and SF DIRTLAB is going to bring it the San Francisco on July 2nd! That is the Thursday before July 4th, so come on out and get stoked on the the sickest new bike film and then shred your favorite spots over the long weekend. The event will be held at Chrome Headquarters on 4th St and will feature:

A live performance by Attack Bird (yeah…like the one on Market St.)
Frosty refreshments from Speak Easy Brewing Company
Raffle to benefit SF Urban Riders
Download the attached poster or check the SF DIRTLAB website for additional details.

A few words about the film from Radical Films….

“The Ride - the coolest human-powered adrenaline tool ever invented - the mountain bike.

The Rider - 15 individuals hell-bent on pushing the limits. They are crazy men who think they are normal. REVOLVE blasts in cinematic glory from the French Alps to the lush coast of British Columbia, incorporating Dirt Jump, Trail, Freeride, Slopestyle and Downhill.

Filmed on location in France, Switzerland, Germany, South Africa, Italy, Canada and the USA.

Featuring Jamie Goldman, Lance McDermott, Sam Pilgrim, Steve Romaniuk, James Doerfling, Rene Wildhaber, Garett Buehler, Mike Kinrade, Bobby McMullen, Sam Hill, Brendan Fairclough, and the coastal crew.”

Also, Bobby McMullen, one of the stars of Kranked Revolve will be making a special guest appearance at the SF Premier!

Bobby is one of the most courageous and inspirational people I have ever met, always positive and witty. His attitude and passion for life are infectious, making him even more amazing. Bobby may have lost his sight, but that doesn’t stop him from competing in several DH races each year, often beating people who can see!

Find the trailer here.

Press Release: 5/21/2009

Do you ever dream you could head out to the local park to play on a pump track, practice riding some skinnys, or take turns hitting some wall rides & jumps with your friends? Maybe you just wish there was well-made, legal singletrack within your city parks.
SF Urban Riders has been hard at work, pushing those dreams that much closer to reality.

SF Urban Riders has released the first conceptual draft of a potential Bicycle Skills Park in San Francisco’s McLaren Park. This exciting step is the first of many towards developing an improved trail network and a world class bicycle park within San Francisco city limits.

The group has undergone a fair amount of growth and development over the last year, and along with officially becoming a non profit chapter of the International Mountain Bike Association (IMBA), has selected an interim board of directors and launched a completely revamped website:

http://sfurbanriders.org

SF Urban Riders is hosting a public meeting and social this coming Wednesday, 5/27/09 from 6-8pm at Sports Basement Potrero Hill. Come out to meet your fellow mountain bike advocates and get involved with the development of trails and bicycle skills parks in San Francisco. SF Urban Riders will be showing off their newest conceptual maps for McLaren Park trail and bike park improvements, giving a tour of the website and seeking public feedback and suggestions. This will be a BYOB event.
