216 factory

We lost a great guy yesterday …. Steve Delay of SWD Racing passed away …. Steve was at all the CHDH’s encouraging and was always telling me that I was doing a good job even thought I was stressed out like crazy. I would look for him at the races for his positive words. He loved DH racing and was always down!!! I’ll always remember his quote ….

“Down like four flat tires” …

I’m going to miss him!

R.I.P Steve Delay

Message from one of his riders ….

Friends,

At 2:11pm today, February 25, 2008, Steve Delay owner and creator of SWD Racing passed away. He was with his family and friends and it was peaceful and gentle. Just a few days after preparing and delivering his 2008 factory riders their bikes, Steve entered the hospital in a coma. Steve loved downhill bikes and racing, he built SWD Racing because of that. He wasn’t looking to get rich he just had a passion for racing. One would always find him on the hill at any given race watching as every bike would come passed, very rarely was Steve found in the pits for most of his sales came on the hill. A simple man with a simple phrase, “win on Sunday sale on Monday”. He will be missed.

Steve and his riders
