The folks behind the Race for Tara at the Sand Hill Ranch will be continuing the Road to Recovery Fund for Tara Llanes at the SF Expo by selling Race for Tara race shirts and Heart of a Champion merchandise.
In preparation for the Race for Tara 2, BTCEB is helping Sandhill gather volunteers for maintenance at the bike park. Phil and Renee will be leading us in fixing up the berms and jumps on the tracks, and mowing down the weeds. Park maintenance days will be October 18/19 and 25/26. Some refreshments will be provided, so BYOBBQ/lunch. For those that plan on working 2 days in a row, camping is welcome in the parking lot (no running water, port-a-potties only). Volunteers can ride afterwards. Please come out and help prep the park for the race!
Now that InterBike is over, it’s time to gather all that money you won in Vegas, check your couch for loose change, & break out your check books! The highly anticipated Tara Llanes Fundraiser is ready to rock on PINNEDmtb. com!
There are some great prizes offered by our friends in the cycling industry! Specialized donated a complete bicycle, Fox Shox donated a few bad-ass forks, Anneke Beerten donated her World Cup 4X leader’s jersey, Andrew Neethling donated his ’06 4X race machine & there is so much more! Check out that awesome drawing by industry legend BOB HARO! Yah, it’s that Bob Haro who founded Haro Bikes! This is the first time that he’s donated one of his drawings for auction!
C’mon everyone… Tara needs our help! Accidents like hers aren’t just a one-time fix. It takes years & years of rehab, doctor visits, new equipment & surgeries just to start your ‘road to recovery.’ And let’s not forget the struggles just to try & live a “normal” life. We take so many things for granted in life, can you imagine what it would be like if you were in her shoes?
Tara’s scheduled to have surgery this coming November, just to relieve the pain she’s been having. Why not take the time to chip in a few bucks to help out our friend Tara! You could win something exciting, while helping out our friend in need!
Cost to enter is $5 per ticket. All proceeds will go directly to the Tara Llanes ‘Road to Recovery’ Fund!

A little late posting this but heard about JD SWANGUEN from Theo from All Out Productions … This kid is a savage!!!! “JD Swanguen takes top spot on a damp, technical course after the most competitive Dual Slalom ever seen at Kokanee Crankworx. After favorites like Brian Lopes, Andrew Neethling, Dan Atherton and Cedric Gracia get knocked out in earlier rounds, first place was up for the taking.” Read more @ Decline Magazine DOT com
